Is your website actually any good?

Type in your web address and find out in about a minute: how fast it loads on a phone, whether Google can find you, whether customers can, and what's quietly costing you business. Every result explained in plain English — including which fixes you can do yourself. No email address, no sales call, no jargon.

What we check, and why it matters

Speed on mobile

We ask Google itself how fast your site loads on a phone — the same measurement Google uses when deciding rankings. Slow sites lose visitors before they’ve seen anything, and lose rankings to faster competitors.

Visible to Google

Some sites accidentally tell Google to go away — a leftover “noindex” instruction or a blocking robots.txt from when the site was built. We check for the blockers, and only report what we can actually verify.

Title & description

The blue link and the two lines under it in Google results are written by your site. Missing or bad ones mean Google improvises — and searchers scroll past. This is the cheapest fix in SEO.

Local signals

Google decides who shows for “near me” searches partly from the address on your website and how it’s marked up. No address, no map pack — simple as that.

Contact details

If a customer can’t see how to ring you within five seconds, they go back and pick someone else. We check a phone number and email are actually findable on the page.

Sharing preview

When someone shares your site on Facebook or WhatsApp, does it show a proper card with an image — or a bare grey link? Word-of-mouth is your best marketing; this decides whether it looks the part.

The speed number comes from Google's own measurement system, and the rest is read from your site the way Google reads it. We publish the same scores for our own client work — measured, not claimed, both ways. If you'd rather understand the whole picture first, our free guides give the method away.

Fair questions

Is it really free? What’s the catch?

Really free, no catch, no email address required — the results appear right on the page. We built it because it shows what we pay attention to better than any sales page could. If your check comes back full of green, we'll happily tell you your site's fine and wave you off.

Will you see my results?

The check runs on our server, so technically yes — but nothing is done with it, nobody rings you, and you won't end up on a list. If you want our opinion on your results, you come to us: WhatsApp us the link and we'll tell you honestly what's worth doing.

Why doesn’t it tell me how many pages Google has indexed?

Because we can't measure that honestly from outside — an accurate answer needs access to your Google Search Console, and tools that claim to know it from outside are guessing. We only report what we can verify: whether anything is actively blocking Google from your site. “Measured, not claimed” is rather the house rule.

My site scored badly. Now what?

First: don't panic — every red item on that report is fixable, and some are marked as jobs you can genuinely do yourself. For the rest, everything the tool checks comes as standard on our £99 + £29.99-a-month plan, including rebuilding sites that scored badly for someone else. Or start with our free guides — the website checklist covers most of it.

Can I check a competitor’s site?

You can check any public website — yours, a competitor's, one you're thinking of buying from. Knowing where the competition is weak is half of local SEO.

How is the speed score measured?

We ask Google's own PageSpeed system — the same one at pagespeed.web.dev — so the number is Google's, not ours. It simulates a mid-range phone on a mobile connection, which is deliberately tougher than your office wifi: that's the visitor worth worrying about. It also means the check takes up to a minute — real measurement does.
