How I found you

I'm Lee, and I run Blackpool Web Design. I make design concepts for local businesses whose websites look like they could do with some help, and send each one to the business to see if they'd like it.

What I collected: your public Google Maps listing (name, address, phone, opening hours, price level, reviews and photos), your Companies House record if you're a company (name and number, directors and when they were appointed, filing status and accounts type), your public website, when your web address was registered (from the public domain registry), where you came up in my Google searches, and the results of an automated website check on it. I use this to decide who to contact first and to address you by name.

How I contact you: by post, and by email or text message to limited companies and LLPs only (never sole traders or partnerships). A text only goes to a mobile number listed publicly on your Google listing.

When the concept is viewed: I record the visit (date and time, the type of device, the town worked out from the internet address, which is not stored), time on the page, how far it was scrolled and which of its buttons were used. No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device. This tells me whether the concept was looked at, so I know whether to follow up.

Why: to design a concept for your business and to write to you about it. This is based on legitimate interests: offering a relevant service to a local business.

Who else handles it: the concept is designed with the help of AI services from Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini), and Google Maps supplies the listing, Google PageSpeed checks the website's speed, if I write to you by post, Stannp prints and posts the card (they get your business name and address), and if I text you, Twilio sends it (they get the mobile number). They process it for me and don't use it for anything else. If you reply to an email or text, I read the reply (with help from Claude to sort it) so I can answer you or stop.

How long I keep it: 90 days from when I contact you, then the concept, the visit records and everything collected for it are deleted, unless you reply and we're talking.

To stop hearing from me: reply "no thanks", text STOP, or email lee@blackpoolweb.co.uk; the concept then stays online only until its expiry date and is then deleted. To have the concept taken offline straight away as well, use the "Remove my business" link on it. Either way your business goes on my do-not-contact list, which is permanent (it holds only your business name, website, email and phone number so I never contact you again), and that is never reversed.
